As a Kuwaiti student of communication disorders, I've never realized the lack of awareness in my society without the following experience : at my first lecture of stuttering disorder, my instructor asked us to pretend to be a person who stutters at any supermarket or a daily life activity, making sure that the other part never seen us before... as a group of 2 , first, who supposed to stutter & second, supposed to observe & write notes. At my turn, we went to a local organization. I asked them to add my name at specific course that depends on conversation ... at first we thought it's funny & beneficial task. Yet, after couple hours when we started to write our report, we cried. I've never understand how a person who suffering from stuttering how does he feels & suffers from the society that doesn't understand his/her problem, & sometimes ,,, they make it worse. but for me ... that task was a huge motivation to try & make the situation much better. thank you for your time to read my experience :) Haya Mohammed
