How interesting (and sad) that reactions towards stuttering seem to be so similar globally! I am originally from Austria and presently reside in the U.S. (I am completing my M.S. programme in communication disorders at Mankato State). I have many friends in Europe who stutter and, I am afraid, none of them were ever helped by therapy. Their experience with teachers and peers were very similar to what you describe. They struggle individually but most of them fortunately are doing well in life. I am hoping to connect more with people from all over the world and I believe that we jointly, people who stutter and people working with them, will have a positive impact! Do you have self-help groups in Kuwait? Is there a Stuttering Association that educates the public and helps people connect? All the best for your good work! P.S. we had friends from Kuwait and my mother visited your country in the 1970s!
