Hi John, In the words of the proverb, “If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well”. I guess that sums up the manner that I approach each annual ISAD Online Conference. I consider it a privilege to be able to contribute a paper to such a prestigious international forum. Amazingly, this is the eighth consecutive year that I have been afforded the opportunity to share my views with people from all over the world. If they take time out of their busy lives to read my articles, and are then kind enough to provide feedback, then they deserve a meaningful response – one to which I have given proper consideration. You are right – it can be very time-consuming (particularly when I lead such a full and exciting existence), but it is also exceedingly satisfying and rewarding. The many positive comments that I receive tend to suggest that others feel that they derive value from my writings. It really makes the effort worthwhile. Kindest regards Alan
