Hi John, Thank you for your generous comments. As you know, my struggles with the spoken word encouraged me to cultivate useful writing skills. In many instances, transferring my thoughts to paper was the only effective way in which I could meaningfully express myself. The written option allowed me to communicate exactly what I wanted to say. I could select words without the usual anticipatory fear associated with stuttering. As someone who was once heavily reliant upon word substitution, I developed into a ‘walking thesaurus’. :-) Today, of course, I delve into that extensive vocabulary when speaking and writing. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed (and greatly appreciated) our numerous conversations during the past nine years – on three different continents. I’ve learned a great deal from you, particularly in relation to the holistic nature of the problem that shaped my life for more than half a century. I’m heartened when others tell me that they find my experiences of interest. Kindest regards Alan
