Hey Steve my friend! It's so great to see and hear you use the word "teammates". As we're all in this together. And as a team we can help and support each other and hopefully raise our voices to put some pressure on teachers and decision makers to stop ignoring the problem. That's the power of stuttering organisations, like for ex the NSA, the Swedish Stuttering Association and also international organisations like ELSA and ISA. At the NSA conference I was at your workshop about "A is for Attitude". That's what I wish for all of us: to get more attitude! Just because we're different doesn't mean we're strange, bad or negative in any other way. We can be interesting, intelligent and great fun to be with. Many of us don't say so much but what we say is well worth repeating. :-) We should revolt to everyone, including ourselves, who say we cannot (or even worse: should not) talk. As Bob Marley said: "Get Up, Stand Up, Stand up for your right, Don't give up the fight." And that fight may also be within you. As noone should feel so bad about him/herself that life has no more options. We've both been there. And we both saw the light and shout it from the roof tops. We changed the coin and use the dark days of our lives to help others. Maybe this is simply the meaning of our lives... I'm happy and proud to know you, Steven, and I'm sure our pathes with cross again. ASAP!!! :-) Hugs, Anita
