Hi Dave and thanks for your amazing story. You wrote "my stuttering would be nothing more than a nuisance, an irritating habit that was rather frustrating because it sometimes interfered with conversation". And this is exactly what it is, nothing more, nothing less. But somehow it gets to be a demon controlling our lives. It teaches us to hide, to lie to ourselves, to forget who we really are behind the "stutterer". You also wrote another simple truth "So I'm just one of the crowd, and they are one of me, and there's nothing to fear or hide from being in contact with them." It's a long road to get there, but if you stop focusing on what yo CANNOT do and start rewarding yourself for everything you CAN do, , write that doen ask friends and family what you're good at and put that list next to your bed, on the mirror or even on the toilet, where you use to have a moment of reflection, with a oen next to it to add something every day, you'd be surprised. And proud of yourself. Also watch other people closely and see there flaws, remembering that you're only human, just like anyone else. And finally: would you like to be with the perfect people, or would they be a pain in the you-know-what? So why would you want to be perfect? keep talking, Dave. Share your experience with others as if one person follows your footsteps, it's all worth it. Thanks! Anita
