Hi Katie. Thanks for your kind words. Facing fear is hard. For everyone, no matter what it is about. And it takes a lot of hard work and "a little help from our friends". And I know I might be beaten up for saying this, but I've learned a lot from dog training. How do you get a dog to do something it's afraid of? You entice and reward. Start with things that are easy and build it up. Start with things that have nothing to do with speech. And always make it fun. Challenging yourself (and others) should be fun. It's not neccessarily harder or easier the longer you stutter or have fears. A lot of it depends on the person you are and to the reactions you get from others. If you fall off your bike some people say not to get up again, others tell you to try it again while cheering. if you hear things long enough, you start believing them. I know a child who was said to be araid of horses, but at the children camp she wanted to lead the horse. Than the mother saw that and screamed to her daughter to let go of the horse telling her that she, the daughter, was afraid of horses, projecting HER fear to her child. So teach the child to find challenges fun, and do things together. But all fears are real, so don't wave fears away. Please also read my reply to Dave to the previous question. And don't hesitate to ask other questions. Thanks for wanting to learn! Anita
