Hi, great paper. So much connection between the mind and spirit. I have read some of Jon Kabatt Zin's work on mindfullness, and tried practicing it for a while. Not to improve my fluency, but to just generally find a decent means of stress reduction. I do find that my stuttering increases when I am tired or stressed, and find myself gwetting frustrated that I don't do more stress reduction. I have also thought as you have: "I can have such nice fluent periods. Why can't I have them all the time?" Even though I don't regularly practice mindfullness, it is something I can draw on in times of great stress. I prefer doing it alone, as opposed to in a group. I was also finding it very relaxing to combine yoga with being mindful, but never to decrease my stuttering. I am more or less at peace with it these days! Thanks for a great perspective.
