dear Sarah <I never thought about meditation as a technique to deal with stuttering symptoms. That is a very interesting concept, and I am glad i read your article. I believe that focusing on the moment is really good advice for a person who stutters. If we focus too much on future speech, it may make what we are trying to say at that given moment a lot more difficult. < - the problem is that PWS try "to make the speaking" instead of letting the speaking happen, as normal speakers do. This is a very strong habit and very difficult to let go of it. But as I said, by observing what is happening our mind becomes more quiet and focussed, making it increasingly more possible that "spontenious speaking just happens".. I do not consider myself to be a person who stutters, but if i get too far ahead of myself, I find myself getting confused and having to start my sentence over again. meditation in general can help everybody to be more concentrated, to speak and write "step by step" cheers, Stefan
