Jeanette, I've always been in private practice so the amount of research in the true sense that I've done has been pretty limited. In terms of covert stuttering I think the biggest problem in desigining a research study would be in defining exactly what you meant by "internal stuttering" and finding a way to measure that event. Its a little like trying to develop a psychological self report test in that determining what is going on is difficult.
