I hope that no audiologists get after me for this. Lisa, Meniere's disease is a progressive inner ear condition. Its primary symptoms are vertigo, balance problems, fatigue, progressive hearing loss, tinnitus is common, etc. Nobody actually knows what causes it although there are some pretty good theories. There are treatments which may or may not work for any given person at any given time but no cure. There is no way to tell if the person will go deaf from Meniere's or how severe their hearing loss and other problems may become. Attacks can last from minutes to weeks or even months and over time symptoms tend to become permanent. I suppose that I would have to say that it is not pleasant.
