Hi Judy. I’m a grad student currently enrolled in my first fluency course. At this time I’m working on a presentation about technology and it’s many uses for fluency evaluation and therapy. Your article brought two points to the forefront that I had not considered before, and for this I thank you! First, during my research I hadn’t thought about the careful consideration that should be given when deciding if and what kind of technology is appropriate or ethical for a particular client. It should certainly be relevant, but as you pointed out in a response to another comment, making ethical choices is extremely important as well. Secondly, the idea that you can bring this high-tech tool into the home and show the parents and client how to utilize it on their personal computer is a great idea. Thank you for this very useful and motivating article. Good luck on your quest to further expand your knowledge and use of technology and it’s assets as well as pitfalls. Keep us all posted!
