Megan: If you are going to be working with adults on occasion, then you need to be "up front" with them at the onset of therapy. Tell them that you don't know everything about stuttering but you are not afraid to ask your professors, clinical supervisors, or even the adult client for assistance. Once you tell the adult client that you don't know everything, their level of respect for you and your knowledge/skills will go way up. They will already know that you are a student and won't have all the answers. So your age won't make any difference to them at all.
