Rachel: Sorry about the "mis-post", I sneezed and hit the "enter" button. My speech therapy at NMSU consisted mainly of teaching me how to improve my fluency. The emotional aspect slowly changed as my fluency improved. It was a "side effect" that wasn't anticipated, but happened anyway. There wasn't any support groups in Las Cruces at the time I was in therapy, so I never had that opportunity. There is a student (undergraduate) at NMSU working towards the SLP who stutters and I'm helping her start a stuttering support group now.
