Jaclyn: I’ve been asked by quite a few people during this online conference how would my life had changed if my earlier speech therapy had been more supportive. I will tell you the same thing I’ve told all of the others, I try not to dwell in the past because I can’t change it anyway. Would my life have been different had my childhood therapy been what I received a few years ago? Maybe, possibly and I don’t know. Hindsight is always 20/20, but you can only use it to see “the good, the bad and the ugly”. I have always tried to not think about what might have been because it’s already locked into history forever. I wrote about my past history so the students of today and tomorrow won’t make the same mistakes. Would my life have been different, most likely, but I probably wouldn’t have married my wife of almost 24 years, or the children I acquired when I did get married. Regrets, no, I have no regrets about my life, no matter what “might have been”. Study the past, but live in the future.
