Thank you for this well written and explained article. I am a first year graduate student and haven't had much experience with fluency yet. However, I have observed a lot of clinic and learned a lot from classes. I have picked up in the past that many people very much dislike the feeling of sounding unnatural. PWS tend to usually just do one or the other, pausing or slower rate. What are your thoughts and experience on this? Are kids reluctant to try this and generalize into the classroom, because it sounds "silly" to them? Also, is there practice to generalize into conversational speech? Another step to the bucket? Thanks again for your article! I think the step by step progress of slowly lessening the support is well thought out.
