Dear Dr. David M. Corey, I am a second-year Speech-Language Pathology student at NYU taking a class in Fluency Disorders with Lee Caggiano. One of our assignments is to read an article of interest on stuttering from the online conference and post a question. Additionally, we are required to turn in the article, our question and the author's response. I would greatly appreciate if you could please answer the following questions: 1. From an evolutionary standpoint, is there any evidence demonstrating why it is that men tend to develop a stutter over women? 2. Is there a difference in the brain activity when a male is speaking versus a female similar to the way there is a discrepancy in brain activity of males and females as it relates to attention? Thank you, Monica Putt
