Dr. Cory, I find it so interesting that individuals who are fluent become disfluent when attending to DAF rather than their non-delayed speech, while children with DS see a reduction of disfluencies with DAF. Do you think that using DAF as a type of fluency intervention might cause the child with DS to become dependent on that delayed speech and possibly become even more disfluent when the delayed speech is not present?
