Thanks Terryl. I'll answer assuming that you are thinking about early sex differences in development that happen during langauge acquisition. Certainly different developmental rates could be an issue; however, there are likely other factors at play. I say this largely because of the sex difference in recovery from childhood DS. I am not aware of sex differences in the age at which children recover from stuttering. Also, I don't have a good guess as to how the pace of development would cause females to be more likely to recover than males. If you have specific thoughts on this I would be interested in reading.
