David, congratulations on your accomplishments! To not let your fear of stuttering hold you back in what you want to accomplish in your life is inspiring. It was suprising to read that your previous SLP's didn't include you in what YOU thought would be benificial in therapy. Did you ever voice your opinions that "reading books written for children two years younger" didn't seem to suit your needs as a communicator? Did they ever explain to you why you were doing the activities they set our for you ? I can imagine once you realize that you will never exactly be "cured" of stuttering it is a hard concept to grasp. It seems like everything has woorked out well, keep up the positive attitude !!
