Emily, Great questions...I usually work on vocabulary at the beginning of treatment..often kids have this vague idea that "stuttering" is bad and something they do not want to do...but rarely have had a chance to learn about the disorder, have vocabulary to talk about it...it is amazing what happens when kids begin to use more descriptive terms to talk about stuttering..they suddenly feel empowered to change!! As for order, this is part of that Clinical Decision making process of Evidence Based Practice!!!!..) there is not one set way of doing this...just depends on what the child/teen needs..good luck.
