Stuttering is an issue that is close to home for. My older brother has struggled with stuttering for many years, and I have witnessed first hand how it may negatively, and/or positively impact one's attitude. My brother went through several ups and down beacuse of the responses he would get from strangers, from peers, and even from some members of our family. He began receiving therapy when he was in the first grade, but from what I understand, his therapy sessions seemed to only focus on fluency disorder and not his attitude toward the disorder, or otherwise. As a future SLP, I truly appreciate this information, as I know the tips you have given will only serve to enhance my effectiveness as a clinician. Thank you for this excellent information!
