You have asked two great questions.... which steps children tend to struggle with more? This is highly variable. I do not approach treatment the same way with all children. I try to find out what they feel is important and what they are thinking. I usually deal with terminology first and then Time Pressure as these are the easiest to discuss and talk about. What are the reactions of children who have never met another stutterer before? The kids/teens really enjoy reading what others have said...sometimes we talk about another student's comments. I feel this format allows student's to talk about issues without getting personnal..also, some kids do not know how to answer certain questions or evaluate their reactions. this is the challenge of fluency therapy...:) thanks for your quesions.
