We have been discussing in my graduate stuttering class incorporating addressing emotions and attitudes towards stuttering into the therapy session. While I agree that you need to address these before you can dive into working on fluency, when does it go beyond what the SLP is qualified to do? When does another professional need to step in to help the child deal with these emotions or is it only up to the SLP to target these in therapy?
