Hi...glad to have you join the profession!! It is hard to manage a classroom of curious, open kindergarten students who may not totally understand the impact of their comments! I have written a few handouts for teachers...it really seems to matter that certain speaking "rules" are modelled and reinforced by the teacher. This might include "pacing" which means that the teacher sets the speed of the speech (kids will tend to match the pace of others)...also, a teacher who models wait time will help students who have fluency problems as they feel less rushed to respond. This is reinforcing a delay in speaking..sort of a "think time". It is also important to reinforce that everyone has something to work on....speech is just one of those issues. Any way a teacher can help kids to understand that stuttering is just a way of talking is important. good luck...D
