The attitudes of our clients are a very important part of the therapy process and they are often overlooked. Most clinicians do not spend any time educating their clients first and allowing their clients to be actively involved in the decision making process. I believe a client has to have a good attitude towards improving his or her communication skills and has to be an active participant during the discovery process and the steps you mention in your article you are doing just that. In addition, I especially liked the “My Story” PowerPoint slides. I will definitely include some of the things I read in your article in future therapy sessions with my clients.
