I am currently a SLP grad student at CSUN. I have been learning a lot about how debilitating carrying around the negative feelings and attitudes about stuttering can be for the stutterer. The emotional load can actually lead to more stuttering. I was wondering how you would go about getting a child/teen who was resistant to therapy to want to participate? How do you get the child/teen to open up when they have so many walls up, especially on a very first meeting?
