Archiving the client’s attitudes [in a powerpoint] seems like a great idea, especially as a tool to refer back to during therapy as the client progresses forward in learning and applying the techniques they have been exposed to. I feel the same way about the 4th and 5th activities listed. Generally speaking, people take comfort in knowing they are not alone [in a struggle]; and, from observations I’ve made and fluency classes I’ve attended, that negative attitude may be alleviated when it becomes clear that this client is not the only person [who stutters] who feels the way they do. Also, being less negative and self-critical may have a positive impact on the therapy outcome and an overall increase in the quality of life.
