This paper is really insightful as to what individuals may like to do verse what they should do. I can definitely see how these are very different and will affect the individualís perspective a great deal. The things that individuals may like to do can cause a very negative view of stuttering, such as that stuttering defines that individual. This is definitely something it not a very good perspective. However, things that the individual should do are very beneficial, not only to become more fluent but also to come to accept their diagnosis. Also, to realize that their diagnosis does not define who they are. How did you come up with your list? Was it from your past experience as a person who stutters or from talking with others? I was just curious as to the background.
