Hi Russ, Thank you for your inspiring article! Like a lot of other people who posted comments, I was really struck by the distinction you make between fluency and good communication. As a graduate student in an SLP program at Syracuse University, that's something that I really took to heart and hope to remember as I start working with my first stuttering clients in the next couple of weeks. I was wondering if you'd be willing to share your thoughts on your own experiences with SLPs, because as a student I think some of the best advice I can get comes from clients who have been through therapy. How much speech therapy have you received? What did you find most helpful? You wrote in your article, "The primary objective of good speech therapy should be to improve your communication ability, not to simply try and make you fluent." Can you share any examples from your own experience of how SLPs have done this for you? Have you had any really bad speech therapy experiences/what would you suggest a beginning SLP avoid doing in therapy? Thanks so much for sharing your experience and your wonderful perspective! Youngmee
