Hi Reka, Oh yes, Toastmasters in truly an international organization - which by the way is 85 years old TODAY, October 22nd, founded in 1924 According to the latest figures, membership is at an all-time high, with more than 250,000 members in 12,000 clubs in 106 countries. It's a wonderful organization! Together with the NSA, Toastmasters has changed my life! ... Covert stutters? Yes, I'd tell them the exact same thing, maybe emphasizing my words with a big club! Ha, ha, ha! They have a different set of problems, but they spend more mental energy than a hundred overt stutterers, especially in the areas of denial and avoidance. I am totally overt myself and I feel very lucky that I never was able to develop the "skill" to hide my stuttering. But opening up and DEALING with your stuttering is one of the keys to recovering from covert stuttering. And I know that's terribly hard. As I said, I feel very lucky to be overt. ... I hope you've enjoyed this wonderful on-line conference, Reka! ... Russ
