Hello Whoever You Are! Toastmasters is a wonderful TOOL to help you improve your communication abilities. It helps you develop self confidence and teaches you the fundamentals of public speaking among other things. Is it essential? No. My wife, who is normally fluent, doesn't enjoy crowds of people and therefore doesn't share my love for Toastmasters. Everyone is different. Speaking is just not her "thing." But public speaking is a learned art just like learning to play golf or play the guitar. Do you need lessons? No, but they sure help - IF you like that sort of thing. But you can do it on your own, it just takes more time and the desire to do that. ... I hope you've enjoyed this wonderful on-line conference! ... Russ
