Hi Megan, Thanks for your comments on my paper! I can say emphatically that having a positive attitude does help, but to balance it out with speech techniques dos make for a valuable combination. Right now, I am working with a speech therapist who is helping me breathe differently and use that in situations where I can be fluent. I admit it is a challenge for me to use that in public, because although I am positive, sometimes you wonder if you're being examined by the other person listening to you. My speech therapist says that you don't feel bad because you stutter, you feel bad for the other person who has to listen to you. Not any more is that the case! You are going to hear me, and listen to what I have to say!
