Thanks, Karen. You ask a good q, "how to get more expereince with cluttering therapy" because not all people who clutter want therapy unless the nature of their speech is really getting in their way. I've not had the experience of many school referrals either, so I think increased awareness and advocacy is a must. I would recommend finding a Board Recognized Specialist in Fluency Disorders in your area (try www.stutterhelp.org > Referral lists) and finding out if you could observe someone who clutters. I've done this in local more populated regions of my area - e.g., observing my colleague Kay Wallis near the Twin Cities MN who just earned her BRS-FD. She had a client who clearly cluttered, and that helped me add one more case to my literally handful that I'v e worked with over the years. Realize that there is a difference between prevalence noted in the literature and the clients who you will actually get referrals from - the actual clints who "cross your clinic doorstep" as Ed Conture used to say...
