Good questions. No, it is not common in my experience for people who clutter to be in denial of their speech disorder even after they have heard the recording of themselves cluttering - that's actually what helps them accept and understand why others have trouble understanding them and what a repetition sounds like, etc. It is common that cluttering is misdiagnosed as stuttering by SLPs that have not had the experience with the disorder, yes. :~)
