That is such a great and inspiring story! It's nice that there are people out there that take the time to volunteer to provide services and educational materials to those that otherwise would not be able to receive these benefits, especially with a communication disorder that sometimes has such a negative stigma attached to it. In places that individuals with stutters are not accepted, I think that educating the public and professionals is essential to overcome the social stereotypes of individuals who stutter and more importantly, provide them with up to date research and information. With that said, I noticed that therapy services were briefly mentioned at the beginning of the article (using the SET method). I was curious how long the individuals that attended therapy received services and if they continued to work after Mr. Skinner left to improve their speech. Do you know any of the progress that they have made thus far or any other therapy methods that they have begun to use? There are so many different therapy techniques out there that don’t necessarily work for everybody, so I was curious what the results were and if anything had changed after Mr. Skinner had left. Thank you!
