You did a wonderful job coordinating bringing SLP Gordon Skinner to offer services to the people of Cameroon, Joseph. I am a student currently studying speech pathology and had never given much thought about service opportunities in other countries. This article opened my eyes to the desperate need there is elsewhere, which is something I would be very much interested in at some point in my future SLP career. I was wondering how you heard of Mr. Skinner and why, out of all the SLPs in the world, he was approached to come to Cameroon? Did he offer his services or was it because of his volunteerism in Bangladesh or some other reason? He helped so many, rose awareness about stuttering in the area and it’s great that he is planning a return trip with SLP students to follow up and further help the peoples of Cameroon. What a valuable experience this will be for those students as well!
