I believe many people are still not aware of the background of stuttering. Many people do not think it is a big deal to make fun of stuttering. It seems like stuttering is one of the disorders that people still think is okay to joke about. You don't hear about people pushing other people out of a wheelchair and thinking it is funny. Why is stuttering considered laughable? This is very unfortunate and the world could use more people who are educated about stuttering to help educate those less aware of stuttering. One aspect I was curious about was why the prevalence rate of stuttering was much higher in Cameroon than the average prevalence rate.
