My favorite way to use it is to integrate rate control and pause just before a stutter. Many PWS have been told to slow down for years and find the advice punitive. It is also very seductive to think stuttering modification can be done without rate control. Experiential use of the lock gets closure on necessity. Your question about "when is a pws unlocked?" is open to a whole on-line conference, isn't it? Happy, confident, assertive, and in good control may define unlocked.
