I am a graduate student at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am currently enrolled in Judy Kuster's fluency class. I find your approach a to be a good alternative to formal speech services in the schools. It is a way to get the parents and teachers involved from the beginning, even before the child is evaluated. You mentioned that the information from the three weeks of "Talk Time" in some circumstances could make it possible to determine if the child needs to be formally enrolled for in-school speech services. I was wondering what criteria are involved in that decision? Are there some "red flags" that you find to help determine if this approach needs to be supplemented with formal therapy? (I'm assuming that this in-home approach would still be used if the child is formally admitted, am I correct?)
