Hello Dr. Mallard, I am a student at the Department of Communication Disorders at California State University. This semester I'm taking a Voice and Fluency class. It is with great interest that I read this article which added to my arsenal of techniques that will be useful in my future work at school. It is no question that both parents and children can benefit greatly from Talk Times and how the whole management idea can be helpful for an SLP to assist more children. However, I am concerned that there are may be parents who might see this approach as a shifting of work load from an SLP to their shoulders. In your opinion, what would be a good argument in such a case? Also, from your experience what is the success rate of implementing this management approach and what was the main reason for failure?
