I found this article very interesting and hope to implement “Talk Time” with my future fluency clients and their parents. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and hope to work in the public school system after I graduate. I found it interesting that you referred to stuttering as a problem rather than a disorder, but in many cases I suppose this is true. I love that you are in favor of letting the parents and child decide what problems are occurring and how they should be fixed, rather than just telling them what you think. This lets them be much more active in the therapy process and allows them to work towards goals that they support and believe in.
