Andy, thanks for your interest. What seems to work for me in a school setting is to simplify things as much as possible. This helps not only the child but also the teacher and parents. I try to stick with those two concepts. If the children can be successful with them a good foundation is laid for future work should that be needed. And, thanks for mentioning me in the same article as Charlie Healey. He and I are good friends and I respect his work. You are correct in that I probably tend to go a little more with the family than he does. By the way, I got the impression that you strive for fluency in your therapy when you mentioned the specific procedures. I may be reading more into that than I should. However, if I were to ask the children you see, "What are you trying to accomplish in your speech work?" what would they say? Let me know what you think about this. Look forward to your response.
