Julie, thanks for your comments. You are correct in that teachers (and parents) do not know what to do about suttering as well as other problems. You are also correct in that they ignore or minimize the problems. That is why parents, children, and teachers seem to be relieved when they are taught how to be the key components of the process. Everyone benefits with this model--the child, the family, and the communication environment. Thanks for writing and best wishes.
