How would I simplify stuttering therapy if the parents do not follow through? Good question! What I would suggest is to give the child one or two items on which to concentrate and keep those simple. This is why I like keeping good eye contact during stuttering and stuttering on purpose in a relaxed manner while keeping eye contact. If you accomplish nothing else but those two items, the child will have an excellent chance to improve speech in the future. These are two foundational skills that lay and good foundation for the future. If the parents do not wish to participate, then work with the school environment as much as possible. Again, nice question. Best wishes to you.
