Marycelia, I am back now so let me address your questions. The most difficult/challenging part of intervention has been dealing with colleagues who do not like to work with people who are doing something different. People do not like to change. When someone comes along and does something different and effective, it is threatening to certain people. I was surprised by this but it did happen. That was both difficult and challenging to say the least. The most specific challenge I encountered throughout my career was trying to balance family, research, teaching, and administrative duties. The key was having an understanding wife and two great sons! Be sure you marry as well as I did and it will make meeting the challenges you face in life much easier. The easiest? It is all easy when you enjoy what you are doing. Someone once said about their job, "I can't believe they pay me to do this." I feel the same way. I hope you will feel the same way about your job when you begin. Best wishes and thanks for these thought-provoking questions.
