There is no minimum age for problem solving. With young children, the problem solving is for the parents. When children are old enough to discuss their talking, they are old enough to think about how to solve the issues. Regarding parent motivation, they usually motivate themselves as they increase their understanding and see their child improve. I guarantee you this motivates me! Thanks for your questions and best wishes.
