Kryshawn, unfortunately, you are correct in that some parents and teachers may not want to follow through and be much help. I have a basic philosophy with all therapy, regardless of problem, age, etc. That is, keep the therapy as simple as possible and concentrate mainly on foundational behaviors that the person can build upon. With stuttering, I believe the foundational behaviors are keeping good eye contact during stuttering and stuttering in a relaxed, easy manner. Speech improvement and change can then come at a later time if the child/adult can do these things. So, regardless of outside assistance, when it is just the person and me, this is what I strive for. Thanks so much for this excellent question. Best wishes to you.
