Kristy, good question. This is where problem solving come into play. The problem is the child knows what to do but does not use what he knows in the normal environment. If he does not wish to use what he knows then that is okay with me as long as he deals with the consequences of his decisions. Our role is to be sure he knows and understands the variables and then at a certain point it is up to him. There has to be a need to change in order for change to take place. Again, thanks for a question we all have to deal with.
