Although your method sounds like it effectively addresses avoidance behaviors and desensitization, it is highly dependent on parental assistance. How do you account for parents who are solely interested in eliminating the stutter? In these instances, is the teacher’s role as “key player” sufficient? How do those involved in the child’s treatment work to counter the negative views of stuttering that the parents are projecting onto him or her?
